Longtime East Nashville resident Korby Lenker knows a thing or two about sustaining a creative life the indie way.
Korby is the recipient of numerous songwriting awards - most recently a 1st place win at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriters' Contest (past alum include Gregory Alan Isakov and Deb Talan, to name a few). In 2017, NPR Music premiered a song and video he wrote and performed with Nora Jane Struthers about tolerating people whose views are different from yours called ‘Let’s Just Have Supper’. Korby tours 100+ days a year and has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Ray Lamontagne, Nickel Creek and many others.
In addition to his musical creations, Korby is a published author of fiction, a screenwriter and actor. His collection of short stories, Medium Hero, came out December 2015 on Turner Publishing and received critical praise from such variegated sources as National Book Award-winning author Tim O’Brien, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Kirkus Reviews. Korby adapted the book into a crowd-funded web series called MORSE CODE. Starring Sara Antonio, Maggie Schneider, Olivia Evans and Lenker, the quirky heartfelt dramedy premiers April 15 on Patreon.
Jimbo Scott is a songwriter who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Oakland, California. Steeped in traditions of folk, roots, country, bluegrass and rock, Jimbo is most well known for his rich voice. In his most recent releases, “The Parklands” and “Good and Kind”, Jimbo focuses on sharing his perspectives on relationships with nature and community. His keen sense of introspection makes his songs both revealing and resonant. In 2018, Jimbo has joined the ranks of Poor Man’s Whiskey, a longstanding fixture of the Northern California music scene. He also continues to perform throughout the Bay Area and Northern California as a solo act, with his full band, and his project with Grover Anderson, called Freight.
