King Solomon Hicks w/ Opening Act Kevin B.F. Burt

SEE EVENT DETAILS
SOLOMON HICKS HAS BEEN CALLED ‘KING’ SOLOMON HICKS BY HIS FANS FROM NYC, AND NOW INTERNATIONALLY.

He is the real deal…the next best thing out of New York City. Solomon has been in the biz since age 13 as the lead guitarist and performer (9 years) at the Cotton Club, with a 13-piece band. He has been called Lil’ B.B. and East Montgomery because he seamlessly merges jazz and blues.
Solomon opened up for the band KISS on the KISS Kruise V from Miami to Jamaica.

In 2017 King Solomon Hicks played on the Blues Cruise opening for Joe Bonamassa from Tampa to Cancún with Gregg Allman and Eric Gales on board too.

Solomon has four albums under his belt and has played festivals in Spain, Germany, France, Japan, Denmark, Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados, and many US states!
Solomon is an eclectic musician and composer. His blues has a modern melodic line, with emotional statements and story situations that can only be told as blues.

Several newspapers and magazines have written about Solomon’s extraordinary talents, including The Washington Post, New York Daily News, The New York Times, Amsterdam News, Montana’s Bigfork Eagle, Hartford, Conn., and the New Jersey Jazz Society News. His story also received coverage on the PBS and CUNY TV series American Music, ABC, many public access TV and the November 2016 front cover of Blues Blast magazine, WHCR 90.3, and live on air interviews at the jazz/blues radio station that has been playing Solomon’s music for years, WBGO 88.3.

Solomon has played and worked with many artists such as Ne-Yo, Tony Bennett, Jon Hendricks, Mike Stern, and Lee Ritenour. Solomon performs regularly in New York City clubs like The Iridium, Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar, The Red Rooster, Terra Blues, Minton’s Playhouse, Ginny’s, Shanghai Jazz Club (NJ). Solomon’s own band performs on Blues Fridays and Swing Dance Mondays at the Cotton Club.

Solomon teaches music theory, beginner guitar, and advanced guitar. He has taught music to children at the Children’s Aid Society.
