Kidchella 2019 - Octopretzel
Octopretzel is... a tangle of five Bay Area musicians, educators and parents - friends that originally came together for backyard jams. Over the years, as we developed our careers and grew our families, the music we created together continued to inspire us, and thus we formed our band. The name Octopretzel was coined by one of our then 4yr old kids, and it stuck.
Our music, comprised of original songs as well as traditional favorites, is whimsical and fun, with an underlying sensitivity for nature, feelings and story-telling. Best described as folk music, our songs cross generations and genres, weaving together many different musical styles, instruments and themes. Our intention is to create music that can be enjoyed by humans of all ages - children, and their parents too!

Redwood City is pleased to offer its kids music series for the seventh year! Four live music concerts on Sunday throughout the summer, will be MCd by Andy-Z, the Master of Music and Play, bringing his high energy to Courthouse Square for the joy of kids and adults alike!
Sponsored by Redwood City's Public Library and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, this series will provide a safe and fun environment for kids to dance and enjoy live music from 11am to 1pm. The 2019 season launches with The Hipwaders on June 23rd, followed by Purple Fox and the Heebie Jeebies on July 21st. Octopretzel, a new band to Kidchella is up next on August 18th, and the series winds up with Andy Z and the Andyland Band on Sept. 8th. Your family will be thrilled to enjoy free live music, along with an inflatable play-land and more, at the Kidchella series this summer!
