Kera and the Lesbians:

Kera and the Lesbians, hailing from San Diego and currently residing in Los Angeles, lovingly refer to their music as Bipolar Folk. Bipolar in the sense that in one song drummer Michael will pound his drums, expelling his demons with sheer force, while Kera croons and screams and serenades, enchanting all within earshot. Eamon’s guitar playing is reminiscent of sleepy desert afternoons, spent on porches accompanied by the smell of leather and aging wood, while Phil’s bass lines get the crowd moving and grooving. The lyrics more literally embody the band’s polarity, telling tales of anxiety, friendship, insanity and ill-fated love, from Kera’s very unique point of view. Their newest single ‘NAILBITER’ is a manic blues track covering one of Kera’s most aggravating habits and instilling in the listener a mounting feeling of tension that it mercifully relieves, while still giving a taste of the madness of obsession.

So Many Wizards started out in 2009 as the dreamy indie solo project of Long Beach, California, musician Nima Kazerouni. In its beginning phases, the band's shows consisted of Kazerouni performing in front of television sets stacked on top of each other, playing synced-up backing tracks. During this time, the Tree EP was released, an eight-song mini-album of bedroom pop packaged in handcrafted covers. Kazerouni was soon joined by drummer Erik Felix and the pair recorded the Love Songs for When You Leave Me EP. Bassist Warren Woodward filled out the lineup, and the trio began playing often in Southern California, eventually touring nationally and internationally. In 2011 their Inner City/Best Friends 7" was released and Woodward left the band. L.A. musicians Geoff Geis and Melody Carillo stepped in upon Woodward's exit and the band's proper full-length debut, Warm Nothing, arrived in 2012.
