Multiple Grammy-nominated artist Kelis has announced her first national run in over 4 years. Kicking off June 2nd in San Francisco the seven date stint will also be hitting San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and New York wrapping up June 15th in Washington DC. Tickets are on sale Friday, April 18th.Kelis will be taking her full band on the road to preform tracks from her upcoming LP Food due out April 22nd on Ninja Tune Records. Produced by Dave Sitek (of TV on the Radio) and recorded at his house in LA, the album mints a sound that’s rootsy without ever being self-consciously retro, that pitches live horns and gospel organ against electronics, that for all its classic soul and funk influences, couldn’t have been made any time but now. Coming off an incredibly successful SXSW showing where she took over the streets of Austin on her food truck serving dishes named after track titles from her album like Jerk Ribs, Kelis has been hailed as "a star reborn" by NPR, also receiving praise from the likes of Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, Spin, Vibe, NYLON and many more. To preview what Kelis and her band will be bringing to the stage watch her perform "Friday Fish Fry", a track off the album, live at KCRW's Apogee Session in LA last month and keep an eye out for her performances on The Late Show with David Letterman the day of her release and on Conan May 1st.
