Rapper Kanetic Source (AKA Sauce) only just recently played San Jose-on stage with Ozomatli at Music in the Park. Though he's not currently an active part of the LA collective, he was featured on their 2001 album Embrace the Chaos and the 2003 EP Coming Up. He's also from San Jose, which might explain why he joined Ozomatli for the Music in the Park gig. Whether solo, with Ozomatli or when collaborating with Jurassic 5's Chali 2na, Kanetic has an old school flow and apt for clever wordplay lost by a lot of modern mainstream rappers. He's celebrating the release of his latest album, Classic, which is packed with some heavy funk beats and that classic Kanetic flow. (Aaron Carnes)
