The Foxglove Sweethearts

Foxglove Sweethearts, a top shelf collection of belly dancers and artistic collaborators enthusiastically infusing life and vision into inspiring music from all corners of the world, focusing especially on the fierce music of the Arabic and Balkan peoples. Foxglove Sweethearts members include: Stephanie Fields, Danielle Lottridge, Jeanette Walton, Jenna Bowles, Angela Ekstrand, Karina Castellanos, and guest artist Yuko Okumura.

FANFARE ZAMBALETA
Fanfare Zambaleta plays music in the finest and wildest Balkan brass band tradition, which developed over centuries by the Rom (gypsy) communities of Serbia, Macedonia, and Greece. This loud, fast-paced music incorporates mixed meters, close harmonies, and dramatic improvised solos. The band was incubated at San Francisco’s Zambaleta Music and Dance School before hitting the streets as an 11-member juggernaut on a mission to bring Balkan beauty to fresh ears.

Fanfare Zambaleta is Greg Jenkins (alto sax/vocals); Noah Levitt, Laura Carpenter, and Theo Padouvas (trumpet); Rachel MacFarlane (tenor horn); Peter Bonos and Larry Leight (euphonium); Evan Stuart (Sousaphone); Ivan Velev (tapan); Jake Shandling (snare drum); and Corinne Sykes (vocals and percussion)
