K Theory Live with Indaskyes and Pure Powers

SEE EVENT DETAILS
K Theory:
K Theory is the trio of Malcolm Anthony (vocals), Dylan Lewman (sampling, live conducting), and Dustin Musser (Keys, sampling). This San Francisco based group has made serious waves and played shows all over the continent. With chart topping singles and major label released remixes, they are heavily respected amongst the intelligent bass and hip hop scenes.

With an unbelievably unique live show, the act has sold an astounding number of tickets in 2013 and played many major festivals. With top releases on OWSLA, Simplify and their own homegrown K Theory Music label, they have spread their music to all corners of the globe and created an impenetrable brand.

Pure Powers:
Pure Powers is an independent hip hop artist originating out of West Sonoma County, California. Much of his youth was spent on the island of Maui, in and around the southside town of Kihei. After a decade of live performing throughout Hawaii and Northern California, the full length LP, "My Album", is slated for independent release in summer 2014. A long time collaborator of Hawaiian hip hop collective Kamehameha Projects, Pure's album documents a lifelong passion for hip hop culture, community, and roots music. The album features pioneers of the California underground, such as Scarub of Living Legends, Ellay Khule of Project Blowed, and Kirby Dominant, while also showcasing the talents of established emcees such as Nohokai, Iamae, Kapu, Vocab Slick, Spends Quality, Wordsmiff, Aerin Monroe, and Dublin of Shotgun Wedding Quintet. Pure puts it all on the line for his high energy live performances which have recently seen him sharing the stage with Gift of Gab, Aceyalone, Pep Love, PSC luckyiam, The Grouch, Casual, The Alcoholics, Cali Agents, Rappin' 4tay, Wildcard, Sole from Anticon, and more.

indaskyes:
Encounter Jared Lindo before dark and heʼs an unassuming suburban
computer geek, but once night falls he takes to the DJ booth and transforms into a high-energy bass music producer named indaskyes.
Equally at home throwing down urban ghetto beats for hippies in the
desert or getting a VIP bottle service crowd bobbing their heads to a
psychedelic dubstep tune, indaskyes is a musical chameleon with a
singular focus - make them DANCE.

Honing his skills since discovering electronica in 2008, indaskyes is just
beginning to release his work. A heavy hip-hop influence is abundantly
clear in his original tracks, reflecting his love of simple yet intoxicated
beats. From a glitchy, dubbed out remix of Goapeleʼs ʻPlayʼ to a
crunkalicious, booty bumping rendition of Young Buckʼs ʻShorty Wanna
Ride,ʼ his musical range and focus on the dancefloor are undeniable.

The hard work has paid off as heʼs shared the stage with heavy hitters
like Salva, Minnesota, An-ten-nae, MartyParty, NastyNasty, Sugarpill,
and Smasheltooth. Heʼs played all over the state and enjoyed his first
Burning Man DJ experience at Camp ? on their epic setup in 2011.

Lowgritt:
LoWGritt aka The Enthusiast is a music producer from California that specializes in electronic/hip-hop composition, sound design, and audio engineering. With almost a decade of experience as an independent recording artist, this producer has been busy crafting a neo-hip-hop simulation designed to unlock your inner portals.

Numerous:
Down a dark alley in Santa Cruz, you can find Numerous spitting flows off the top over a beatbox re-kindling roots with the soul of Hip Hop. Sometimes you'll see him on stage beatmatching his production on the wheels of steel cuttin' up his vinyl. If it's 3am, you'll probably find him in his studio with a pot of coffee and a madman grin on his face as he spews out another boom bap beat.

No matter where or how you find him, he's always got mind-bending lyrics and over-the-top showmanship to entertain the critically-observant thought-provoking music lovers.

Those looking for your standard "Hip-Pop" self-glorifying, studio-gangster, mainstream facsimile status-quo basura will be severely disappointed. If however you are amongst those of us who seek music for the soul from the soul... this ish is for you.

Numerous has opened up for a lot of people, and if we felt like boosting his ego we'd list them here (but we don't).

The former front-man of the Hip Hop/Electronica fusion live band "Vibrant EYEris" is now doing his thing at venues throughout California and pretty much anywhere else people want to hear his slightly-schizophrenic tangent-driven lyrical firestorm.

This event is 18 and over, please bring ID.
