PAULETTE LYNCH AND KEN PETERSON TO BE HONORED AT ARTS GALA SEPTEMBER 27, 2014. "JUST THE TICKET" A gala celebration with food, drink, music and art will pay tribute to longtime local arts advocates in Monterey.
(MONTEREY, CA) In the fall of 1993, Bill Clinton was just moving his saxophone into his new digs on Pennsylvania Avenue, while Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern were taking that first fateful cinematic Jeep ride through Jurassic Park.

Meanwhile, in Monterey Paulette Lynch and her husband Ken Peterson were busily toiling away in donated garages and art studios, madly preparing to launch First Night Monterey, the local arts-centered, family friendly New Year's Eve celebration. Since its debut twenty-two years ago, First Night Monterey has cemented itself in the cultural landscape as the destination New Year's Eve celebration on the central coast, drawing over 10,000 spectators and participants each December 31st to the city's downtown streets. In addition First Night has expanded its offerings and its schedule and today is a year-round arts organization providing education and outreach not just at its headquarters in Monterey but also in Castroville, Marina and Greenfield as well.

In the intervening 22 years Paulette's and Ken's commitment to the arts in Monterey County remains steadfast. First Night Monterey will honor their volunteer spirit and leadership with "Just the Ticket" a gala celebration with food, drink, music and art on Saturday, September 27 at the Portola Hotel and Spa. Tickets are $99 and on sale now at https://www.FirstNightMonterey.org or by calling (831) 373-4778.
A festive night replete with fine food, music, art and excellent company awaits at "Just the Ticket." Live and silent auctions will showcase some of the unique crafts and merchants of Monterey County and patrons can buy tickets for a fabulous wine raffle. Tickets are $99 per person until September 17 and then $125.00; tables of ten can also be reserved. All proceeds will help fund First Night and its Outreach Program, First Night ArtWorks!
Paulette Lynch is Executive Director of the Arts Council for Monterey County and Ken Peterson is Communications Director for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
