Experience special behind-the-scenes tours of the Presidio, including its historic horse stables. Now home to the Park Police's four-legged companions, the stables originally housed the Army Calvary. Begin the journey at the Presidio Visitor Center, and park staff will provide you with a menu of fun options for the day, including the ranger-led experience, a discovery hunt map to try on your own, or learn about the Presidio's natural treasures.
Join a free shuttle ride from the Chinatown Branch Library to the Presidio, and spend an afternoon with park rangers on a guided tour or bring a picnic to enjoy in the park!
Space is limited. Please sign up in advance by clicking the green "Register" button here on Eventbrite, or ask a librarian at a participating branch for assistance. Even if the trip is already full, add your name to the waitlist, and we will contact you if seats become available.
The shuttle will pick you up and return you to the library. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure, as the shuttle will leave promptly on time. A staff member will ride with you on the shuttle and bring you to the park site. We will provide program information and maps in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Restrooms are available at the park.
Be sure to bring with you: - Bottle of water - Bag lunch and snack - Sunscreen and hat - Extra layers and jacket - Walking shoes
Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone (a responsible adult over 21).
