Julius Papp started collecting records as a teen in the '70s. A decade later, he had scored his first major club gig and he's been a fixture of the Bay Area club scene ever since. His soulful deep house has evolved to meld modern mixing and sounds with the records he first loved--namely '70s disco and '80s new wave. His style fuses the two genres to create airy, undulating beats that sound both futuristic and classic--folding in elements of Latin, Afro and Jazz, Papp uses all ends of the sonic spectrum as tools for forging his singular dance music.
