JUKE CITY: A Harlem of the West Immersive Art Experience

SEE EVENT DETAILS
From the 1920s to the 1950s, San Francisco was home to a vibrant Black culture that made it a destination long before the Hippies and the Dot Coms made it cool. From music to activism, the city sparked movements and led what came to be known as the Harlem Renaissance of the West. Come experience this little talked about piece of San Francisco history by surrounding yourself in the energy of a juke joint with live music, hand-crafted cocktails, dancing, art and film by William Rhodes, and the storytelling of African Americans elders who lived through the era.
