Hailed by The Boston Globe as "the most important American quartet in history," the Juilliard String Quartet draws on a deep and vital engagement with the classics, while embracing the mission of championing new works. This evening's program includes the Beethoven String Quartet, Opus 130 paired with new pieces by the celebrated German composer Jörg Widmann, which were co-commissioned by the Juilliard String Quartet and designed to accompany Beethoven's work. The Green Music Center is a proud co-commissioner of this project.
