JR x TIME present: The Gun Chronicles

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us Saturday, November 24th at Chandran Gallery from 5pm to 8pm for a timely exhibit exploring gun ownership in America from the artist JR and TIME Magazine. The project seeks to facilitate an unbiased and honest conversation about guns in America by showcasing the full and complex spectrum of views on guns in America, including individuals from all sides of the debate, representing a full range of diverse opinions.

It’s a truly American story: 325 million people, more than 265 million guns, 35,000 deaths a year, and one 227-year-old constitutional right. To move beyond the familiar, TIME partnered with JR, an artist and photographer known for documenting social issues. In three U.S. cities profoundly affected by guns, they invited people to share their views, describe their experiences, and search for common ground. JR filmed and photographed 245 people—hunters and activists, teachers and police officers, parents and children—to create the video mural and cover story of TIME Magazine.
