Dive into the emotive future soul sounds of singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Josh Jacobson. Growing up as part of a musical family in the picturesque town of Ithaca, Josh started piano lessons when he was five and gained much of his perspective from the classical and jazz traditions before discovering an additional world of inspiration in soul, R&B, and dance music. With a voice described by Nest HQ as “Justin Timberlake-meets-The Weeknd” and a production approach that is at once cinematic and minimalist, Josh is crafting his own sound and building a story that continues to evolve with each new release. His records share a unique balance that is indicative of his own approach to life, with elements that reflect both the vibrant multicultural energy of his current home base in NYC and the quieter, meditative energy of the natural surroundings where he grew up and continues to find inspiration today.Josh’s energetic live show brings together electronic elements and diverse instrumentation including his own singing, keyboards, bass and percussion alongside collaborators on trumpet, violin, drums and many other instruments. Having recently launched his own label, Joshua Tree Records, in partnership with Sony RED, Josh is set to release his debut EP and head out on his first national tour this fall.
