FAQ’s
ACCESS TO THE LIGHTHOUSE “BE SEEN” CELEBRATION
All community members wishing to access the LightHouse must have an Eventbrite ticket. A volunteer will be stationed at the LightHouse providing audio description of the different contingents as they pass by on Market Street.

IS THE EVENT ACCESSIBLE?
For full details about accessibility, check out PRIDE’s accessibility page. They have a range of services for people with accessibility concerns including a dedicated viewing area for the Parade at their Grandstands. For those who wish to purchase accessible seating at the Grandstands you can purchase those at the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/san-francisco-pride-17-grandstand-seating-tickets-34445443248

For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing attendees, PRIDE provides sign language interpretation at the Pride Main Stage in Civic Center all day Saturday and all day Sunday. ASL interpreters are available at community-run stages and venues by request. Please visit the Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Tent near the Main Stage at Civic Center to request an interpreter.

Arrangements can be made for touch interpreters for our Deaf-blind attendees prior to the event — please contact PRIDE organizers by email prior to June 1.

ARE DOG GUIDES, OR PETS ALLOWED IN THE PARADE?
Yes, pets are allowed at the event, including, of course, service animals assisting people with accessibility needs. Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael has the following advice for dog guide handlers.   No two teams are the same and each dog guide handler needs to consider the factors for themselves and make the right decision for their individual partnership. Many dog guide handlers successfully attend and participate in parades and large events. Please take into consideration that there will be large crowds, a lot of noise, and public transportation will be very crowded. Please note only service animals will be allowed into the LightHouse following the parade.

GETTING TO THE ASSEMBLY AREA
We recommend public transportation to get to the assembly area. The assembly area is easily accessible by MUNI or BART, using the Embarcadero Station and the south of Market exits. Driving anywhere near the Parade Assembly area or Celebration Site is extremely difficult. Parking is not permitted in the assembly area and will be restricted elsewhere. There will likely be a group making it’s way to the start of the parade route from the LightHouse so please register to stay up to date as events unfold!

We will not receive our exact start time until closer to the date so stay tuned for our exact meetup location and time. Participants who register on Eventbrite will receive e-mail updates, and will be kept up to date.

WHERE CAN I FIND PARKING?
San Francisco Pride partners with Parking Panda to assist with parking solutions for those who must drive to the event. Public transportation is HIGHLY recommended.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER WITH LIGHTHOUSE FOR SF PRIDE?
Please register for an Eventbrite ticket, as a volunteer. You will be contacted with more information regarding a volunteer training prior to the parade.

Portable toilets are located at the northern end of each block throughout the Assembly Area. Additional portable toilets are located at the Command Center at 77 Beale Street.
