Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Live!

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Hot Chip’s, Joe Goddard, is making way to SF with a new live performance in celebration of his soon to be released album, Electric Lines. Listen to the pre-releases and you’ll know where you will be on May 11 for album tour. The album title refers to the colored cables to which his Eurorack synthesizer is connected, as well as to the invisible wires between all the different forms of electronic music that Goddard loves. In addition, it is a very appropriate title for an album that blends brilliantly the strands of his extraordinarily fertile career: member of Hot Chip and the 2 bears, songwriter, producer, DJ, Grammy nominated remixer and co-founder of the label Greco-Roman. Like Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie XX, Joe Goddard combines an unbridled desire to experiment with an instinctive flair for the dancefloor and a love for progressive left-leaning pop music. 'Electric Lines' underpins its place at the forefront of British producers. "I feel that this is a good summary of everything I’ve worked on,” says Goddard.

Plus, a special treat from Morgan Geist, available now. Twisted disco producer Geist has put his spin on Goddard’s new single ‘Home’, delivering a remix that highlights the Daniel Wilson-delivered vocal line and adds some signature Geist percussiveness. It premiered yesterday via Mixmag, and you can hear it HERE. http://smarturl.it/JGHomeRemix

‘Home’, the disco-sampling deep house banger about that long cab ride home after a night out clubbing, launched earlier this month with a video from the inimitable Pete Fowler. The journey ‘Home’ starts here on earth before we’re transported into an animated world of nightlife. It's a positive, joyous video about the possibility of transcendence on the dance floor - a necessary reminder in these times that the dance floor is a place for activism, for cultural exchange, for being around people who are not like yourself.
