Jill Scott's debut album hit the shelves in 2000-back when there were shelves to hit-and proceeded to go double platinum, riding the wave of late '90s/early '00s neo-soul popularity. Her next two albums, released '04 and '07, both went gold, and her latest in 2011, The Light of the Sun, hit number 1. Now she's on tour, coming to the Mountain Winery a day after her contemporary Maxwell. Scott's been in demand as a collaborator throughout her career, as she's known for her stunning range and songwriting prowess. (Stephen Layton)
