Shakespeare meets Trainspotting in this Oliver Award-winning comedy by Jez Butterworth.

Life is changing in the small town of Flintock. The town council wants Johnny "Rooster" Byron-- the trash-talking, drug-dealing Gypsy of the woods gone, and they've got a court order to do it. But Rooster ain't budging, and his motley crew of hanger-ons are there to help. Everything comes to a head on St. George's Day, a celebration of the mythical dragon slayer, when the young May Queen goes missing and the bulldozers align to plow him under. If you missed this "magnificent," "tender and touching" new play the first time it came to San Francisco, don't miss its return!

"One of the most exciting new plays in ages." Ben Brantley, New York Times

"Both contemporary and timeless, with mythic and Shakespearean aspects woven into its storytelling." San Francisco Chronicle

After its 2009 premiere at the Royal Court Theatre, London, Jerusalem won the Evening Standard Award for Best Play in 2009 and transferred to the West End in 2010. It opened on Broadway in April 2011 at the Music Box Theatre where it was nominated for a Tony. Directed by Misha Hawk-Wyatt, Jerusalem comes to San Francisco with an all-star cast featuring Alun Anderman, Tyler Barns, Jordan Carlson, Stefin Collins, Michael DeMartini, Matt Harvey, Griffin Hoffman, Grace Ingland, Johnny Kelly, Becky Raeta, Nickolas Rice, Sigmond Varga, Natalie Walker, and international award-winner Ian Walker as Johnny Rooster.

*Due to the rollicking good time had by all (including profanity and simulated drug use), this production is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
