Jenny Kerr + Special Guests: Diego "El Twanguero" Garcia SF Debut

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Plough & Stars (see times)
San Francisco native and internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jenny Kerr is bringing her band and a group of marvelous musical guests together for a night of music that is guaranteed to thrill and delight. Jenny is a writer of immense talent, whose passionate, poetic songs are immediately familiar, like long lost friends re-discovered. Her writing is beautiful and humorous by turns. It is both literate and down home. Her songs cover as much ground lyrically as she does musically. Kerr is a true Americana musician. She is at home playing country, blues, folk, or honkytonk. She soars into straight-up soul on one song, then, gets down and dirty, delving into some deep dank swamp rock

Jenny handles all of this material with expertise and taste. Her voice is powerful and beautiful. She is a burning hot player on guitar, banjo and harmonica. The songs cover a fabulous dynamic range, from delicate ballads to barn-burning rockers, and all held together by this seasoned performer, a musician of rare talents. In addition to her many musical gifts, Jenny possesses that most sublime skill of bringing people together through music.

This night of music unites not only the extraordinary talents of her band, which features her longtime guitarist and producer, Philbillie Milner, but also introduces for the first time in San Francisco, internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso, Diego “El Twanguero” Garcia. Garcia is on tour from Spain and is making his San Francisco debut playing with Jenny. Jenny, Philbillie and Diego became fast friends this past March while performing at the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival in Mexico. After a week of jamming together there, they formed a deep bond and are thrilled to be reunited for a night of music in San Francisco.

Also on the show are special guests the Americana folk pop duo the Keller Sisters, "bodacious blues chanteuse," Kim Kenny and 11-year-old, multi-instrumentalist Daniel Cohen.

Come on down to the Plough & Stars for a night of great music and great times.
