Arch will be hosting a trunk show and sale of fine Japanese papers with Linda Marshall of Washi Arts. She will present a range of papers from the Japanese Paper Place.
Included will be handmade and machine-made natural papers of kozo, gampi and mitsumata fibers well suited to printmaking, bookarts, letterpress, mono printing, mokuhanga, lino and wood block printing, calligraphy, bookbinding, drawing and chine collé printing.
In addition to natural papers, there will be an assortment of decorative papers, including chiyogami / yuzen, katazome-shi (stencil papers), marbled papers by Robert Wu and Karen Perrine on Japanese paper, and Madeleine Durham paste paper on kozo washi, as well as papers with interesting inclusions for fly sheets and collage.
Plan to attend a see a range of hard-to-find exquisite papers available for purchase and special order. Bring any Japanese papers you have in your drawers that you’d like to match or know more about. There will be a good opportunity to ask questions and touch and feel unique and rare papers for use in your work.
