The Emerald Tablet is thrilled to host the world-premiere of James Williamson‘s 40-minute video on the making of his forthcoming album, “Re-Licked”, and a live interview with RE/Search Production's V. Vale on Thursday September 25 at 7:00 pm.
“Last year, Iggy and the Stooges released a new album “Ready to Die.” As guitarist James Williamson told Rolling Stone, Iggy wanted to take a year off, but the rest of the Stooges decided to keep going without him—Bassist Mike Watt, drummer Toby Dammit and saxophonist Steve Mackay worked with Williamson—on an album called “Re-Licked.” It features several Raw Power-era tracks the band only played live, sung by a variety of guest vocalists.
The album will feature Ariel Pink, Mark Lanegan, Jello Biafra, The Orwells’ Mario Cuomo, blues singer Carolyn Wonderland, Le Butcherettes’ Teri Gender Bender, The Dicks’ Gary Floyd, and others.” (Pitchfork)
Be the first to watch Williamson’s film on the recording of “Re-Licked”. Also, V. Vale of RE/Search Publications will be conducting an onstage live interview with James Williamson, ending with an audience Q&A. So if you ever had any questions you wanted to ask, now is the perfect time.
Lastly, to top it off: two brand new limited-edition 7” vinyl singles will be available for purchase. The two 45s are James Williamson with Carolyn Wonderland: “Open Up and Bleed/Gimme Some Skin” and James Williamson with Lisa Kekaula: “I Gotta Right/Heavy Liquid”—all classic Iggy/Williamson compositions.
Be the first to purchase these! Then get your own copies inscribed to you (and maybe for that one rad uncle, aunt or grandma) after meeting James Williamson in person.
