Austin blues-soul singer-songwriter Jackie Venson's performances may seem effortless, but that's only because she's been playing music her entire life. On top of that she studied at the Berklee College of Music right out of high school. With all that experience and know-how she approaches her music in a more reserved tone, weaving subtle complexities into the songs. She tinkers with everything from funk, pop, folk, rock and reggae, but her music generally falls into the categories of blues and soul, usually someplace right smack dab in the middle of those two genres.
