The Jackie Payne Blues Band comes to the stage at the Poor House Bistro to bring you some amazing live music to kick off your weekend. With a voice that reminds one of Otis Redding, Jackie Payne became well known in the blues world after serving as the lead vocalist for the Johnny Otis Show for fifteen years. He also sang on the Grammy Award-nominated song "Spirit of the Black Territory Bands," recorded by The Johnny Otis Orchestra. After splitting with Johnny Otis, Jackie formed his own band, and has since been nominated in both 2007 and 2008 for the "Blues Music Award for Best Male Soul Blues Artist."
