Learn the art of Encaustic wax! Take your mixed media collage artwork to the next level. Join local artist Matlena Hourula for this three hour class where you'll learn the basic techniques of encaustic wax collage and explore transfer and etching methods. All materials, wooden boards and loads of collage materials, will be provided. If you'd like to bring your own imagery, please bring photocopies vs. computer printouts. Please note, while you're at the photocopy store make sure you ask for the mirror image setting so your images will be transferred correctly. Black and white images are preferred although you're welcome to experiment with colored photocopies. By the end of the class you will go home with two small finished pieces and an obsession with a new medium.
