Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica--Opening Friday, July 15, with a reception from 7 to 9 pm will be three new exhibitions at Sanchez Art Center. In the Main Gallery free-form ceramic sculptures and wall pieces by Tiffany Schmierer will be presented in Interconnections, curated by Jerry Ross Barrish. The exuberantly colorful and patterned pieces express Schmierer's delight in the versatility of clay. On the last day of the show, Sunday, August 14, 3:30 pm, a talk will be held with the artist. The East Gallery presents Essential Truths, Bay Area Artists in Color, featuring the art of ten local artists whose works expresses their perspectives as Black, Brown, Indigenous and/or People of Color (BIPOC), coordinated by Shizue Seigel. A virtual artist panel will be held July 20, 7 pm, and an in person gallery walk/talk on Sun, July 31, 2 pm. In the West Gallery visitors can view the Art Guild of Pacifica's group themed show, Positively Beastly. Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA.
