Viktor Kastro has always been interested in the lines objects make and how light and shadow work together to inspire movement and depth. Kastro’s ability to generate new worlds through his art is something that people are able to lose themselves in and see new parts of each time they view the work.
Kastro’s most recent work is a project he calls “Shamanic Labs”. Inspired by the magnificence of the world around him, and the history that precedes it. Ancestral futurism at its finest. Kastro’s dedicated work has merged the use of technology and his artistic influences to create powerful creative works that speak to the viewer. Visitors can expect to see both his classic art made with Ultra-Violet reactive paper and Ultra-Violet lights (blacklights) as well as new installations and projection mapping.
Join us on opening night for a mix of fine art, music, drinks and a special vegetarian culinary treat, courtesy of the artist himself. (Tacos de Mole Negro de Chocolate Poblano with Jackfruit Meat Alternative, w/ queso cotija on stone-ground yellow corn tortillas.)
Location:
Howard St. Gallery strives to bring both established and emerging new media artists to the forefront of San Francisco's thriving tech scene with the understanding that artists are actively moving their work forward with technology. As the official showcase venue of TheShop.Build, Howard St. Gallery is able to have a unique view into the workings of emerging artists.
