Fort Ross Conservancy and Slim’s present a rare and special ethno/world music event. Inna Zhelannaya is coming straight from Russia to participate in Fort Ross Festival and we will have her for one night in San Francisco – there are no other shows in the US. She will be joined by Stephen Kent & The Family Tree, a special ensemble project that Stephen is putting together just for this show.(Stephen Kent is a contemporary didgeridoo player, multi instrumentalist, and world music expert.) We also will be joined by a very special guest Alexander Liapin – Russian guitar master, former member of legendary Aquarium and Pop-Mechanica. The evening will bring a fusion of tribal rhythms, Russian folk, and some jazz rock with psychedelic twist!
Stephen Kent has assembled a supergroup ONLY for this occasion. It is a combination of members from 3 of Stephen’s group projects: Baraka Moon, Eda Maxym & The Imagination Club and Australian Bebop Ragas:
Stephen Kent – Didjeridu, Percussion, Bass/Cello-Sintir
Eda Maxym – Vocals
Sukhawat Ali Khan – Vocals, Harmonium
Steve Gibson – Guitar
Sameer Gupta – Drums, Tabla
