SEE EVENT DETAILS
Improv + Yoga - Practices for Living in the Unkown
Schedule: 4 sessions; once a week for four weeksClass Time/Dates: 11am-2pm on Saturdays, March 23, 30, April 6, and 13Class size: 16 students maximumClass length: 3 hours (12 hours total)Prerequisite: Foundation 3 and above

As humans in today's world we are regularly bombarded with stimulii, expectations, and a perceived sense of control in our lives, jobs, and relationships that can feel daunting at best and debilitating at worst. The practices of improv and yoga both offer frameworks, philosophies, and practices for finding the balance between effort and surrender; for examining our own actions, responses, and patterns; for making mistakes cheerfully; and for making mindful choices for how we want to move through the world - with intention, with heart, and with humor.
In this 4-week class, we'll move through yoga asana (physical poses) and improv exercises that embody those concepts. We'll also dive a bit deeper into the broader practices of yoga beyond the physical poses to find the alignment of yogic philosophy and improvisational principles.
How can we integrate these games and frames to help us be more present, mindful, kind, attentive, and forgiving?
Open to all levels and abilities of yoga experience - from total beginner to regular practitioner.
In addition to being a BATS Coach and Company Player, Rebecca Poretsky is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, and proud Fall 2017 graduate of the Laughing Lotus College of Yoga in San Francisco's Mission District.
