Improv for Business Skills (#Sorry Not Sorry Hawaii Fundraiser) *For Women Only

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Saturday, 9/16 (12-3pm)
Improv for Business Skills: For Women Only
w/ Diana Brown, Shirley Chan, and Jill Eickmann
Too assertive, and you’re labelled as bossy. Too accommodating, and you get passed over for projects and promotions. What’s a modern gal to do? Change the world by changing your circumstances!
Learn how to apply fundamental improv skills to your business life. “Yes, and” those big opportunities! Build your career brick by brick (and discover the right path for YOU in doing so). Three seasoned professionals from the worlds of stage and high-speed startups will guide you in navigating the business world on your own terms.
This class is open only to female-identified participants. We welcome male allies at all other workshops in this series!
About the instructors:
Diana Brown is a performance coach, actor, improviser, and teaching artist. She currently directs and teaches with Leela. Trained at the Arizona Theatre Company's professional training conservatory, Diana’s awards include the Bay Area Theater Critics Award for Best Actress in a Solo Show, Broadway World Award for Featured Actress in a Play, and favorable reviews in The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, Time Out New York, and more.

Shirley Chan thrives at the intersection of marketing and improv. You might say she works the corner there! She has taught business skills and strategy courses through General Assembly and led advanced improv workshops at Leela. Shirley has worked for a few unicorn startups in her day, including Fab, Quirky, and LinkedIn. She has trained at Leela and the Berkeley Rep School of Theater, performs with several indie troupes on the improv festival circuit, and keeps inventing new formats (we can’t stop her).

Jill Eickmann is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Leela Theater Company & Training Center, serves on the board of the San Francisco Improv Festival, and is Executive Producer of Femprovisor Fest. Blending drama therapy, improvisation, and role play, Jill has taught her signature style to thousands of improvisors at Leela, EndGames Improv, Pan Theater, San Francisco Comedy College, Stanford University (GSB), the University of Chicago (GSB), multiple national improv festivals. Private clients include Disney’s The Lion King - Broadway Tour, Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, The Clorox Company, Adobe, Conoco Phillips, Go Pro, and more.

Sorry Not Sorry, Leela's All Women Harold Ensemble is going to Hawaii!
We wil be performing at Improvaganza Hawaii Festival of Improv October 5-8!
Help us raise funds for our airfare, travel, and a few Mai Tai's (Sorry Not Sorry.)

All proceeds for each workshop will go directly to your instructor(s) to help with travel costs.
Get to know the ladies of Sorry Not Sorry and their unapologetic workshop offerings on all things improv, acting, and personal and professional development.
