Over three consecutive evenings - July 27, 28 and 29, from sundown to sunrise, a rainbow of laser light beamed from the Fairmont rooftop will fill neighboring Grace Cathedral with a mesmerizing curtain of moving light, aptly titled "Window". The 720-foot path of shifting light will offer an extraordinary, almost otherworldly experience. The magical light emanating from the hotel's uppermost rooftop, illuminating Grace Cathedral's famed stained glass windows will captivate guests and locals. The installation will close the works of public art from Illuminate for the summer season.
"We are thrilled to present "WINDOW", part of our Summer of Awe uplifting, and ephemeral art installations across San Francisco," said Ben Davis, Founder and CEO of Illuminate. Nob Hill has long held the position of one of the most iconic locations in San Francisco, and the Fairmont and Grace Cathedral are two of the most notable and beautiful buildings. Davis added that the nonprofit's relationship with Grace Cathedral was paved by its project "Grace Light," a large-scale light installation inside the cathedral."
