The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square presented by Alaska Airlines will open with a special ceremony to "break the ice" and kick off the holiday ice skating season. Cast members of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, performing at San Francisco's Curran Theater, will perform the signature wand dance outside the theater for the first time at the ice rink, and there will be a special appearance from Harry Potter himself! Additional entertainment will be provided by U.S. National Pair and Olympic Champions Alexa & Chris Knierim, Cornell Freeney, dazzling the crowd with a "German Wheel Act," and a preview of Drag Queens On Ice from Paju Munro. The event will also feature remarks from Assemblymember David Chiu, legendary drag queen Donna Sachet, and Safeway District Manager Elena Arroyo.
