THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
Bay Area artist Charlotte Keefe and New York artist Alexander Diaz, with current and recently homeless residents of San Francisco, have created through a series of dance workshops and one-on-one conversations this performance piece, an evening of shared stories, necessary movement and unconditional understanding.

In partnership with Grace Cathedral and Episcopal Community Services, HUMAN is a dedication to the under-served and ostracized citizens of San Francisco - a harmonious blend of bodies that sing and faces that are ignored. Join us for a night of understanding beyond what we see and perceive as the norm.

Charlotte Keefe has been a company dancer for Menlowe Ballet and ZiRu Dance. She trained at Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Ayako School of Ballet.

Alexander Diaz has performed at ODC Theater and with LevyDance and TinyPistol. He trained at Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, University of the Arts in Philadelphia and the Ailey School. He has taught dance on the East Coast, in Japan and in the Bay Area.

In an earlier iteration of HUMAN at the 2018 Black Choreographers Festival the San Francisco Chronicle reported "Alexander Diaz has a towering presence but was almost unbearably fragile in his duet with Charlotte Keefe ... they share a potent, soul-stirring energy ... raw and vulnerable."
