JTC (formerly James T. Cotton) is an alias of Tadd Mullinix (aka Dabrye, SK-1 & Charles Manier). The Metro-Detroiter has been an active underground DJ/producer since the mid 90s and is among Ghostly International's earliest alumni. Collaborating with Melvin Oliphant (aka Traxx) and helping to spark Traxx's label, Nation, they formulated a post-purist jacking house sound coined "Jackbeat" which was spiky and incongruous to the tempered sounds of contemporaneous minimal techno and tech-house.
After producing for a number of labels, Mullinix launched his own label, Bopside (2014). The label was founded with the intent to release his own special projects and collaborations. JTC's latest acclaimed LP, simply titled "JTC", probes ultramodern zones of dynamic machine rhythms, musicality, and aeriform soundscapes.
