House concert with Klein prizewinner Julian Rhee, violin

For our final spring house concert, we present the firecely talented violinist Julian Rhee, 2018 Klein String Competition prizewinner in recital with pianist Miles Graber. Enjoy chamber music as it was meant to be heard - in a friendly and intimate setting - presented by the California Music Center, producer of the Klein International String Competition.

Please join us as early as 6:30PM for a delightful dinner buffet, fine wines, and dessert; concert at 7:30PM sharp. Your hosts will welcome you to their wonderful passive solar Palo Alto home set amid a wildflower garden. You'll receive the address and directions upon ticket purchase. Seating is limited.

Program includes: Brahms - Sonatensatz (Scherzo in C minor from the F.A.E. Sonata; Schumann - Violin Sonata No. 1 in A minor Op. 105; Mozart - Violin Sonata No. 26 in B flat Major; and Ysaye - Caprice d'apres de Saint-Saens.

Violinist Julian Rhee, 18, has been establishing himself as a prominent musician and performer across the United States. First prize winner of the Johansen International Competition in Washington DC, Julian was awarded Best Performance of Solo Bach, Best Performance of the Commissioned Work, and 2nd Prize at the 2018 Irving M. Klein International String Competition. In January 2018, Julian was named a Finalist Winner of the 2018 National YoungArts Foundation, and performed at the New World Center in Miami. Julian appeared at the John F. Kennedy Center as a 2018 Presidential Scholars in the Arts, and received his medal at the White House.

He has concertized at Ravinia's Bennett Gordon Hall; Heinz Hall; Overture Center for the Arts; Teatro El Circulo Rosario, Argentina; The Musikverein, Vienna, and Bartok Hall in Hungary. In July, Julian will perform with the San Diego Symphony.
