Hope & Optimism Fred Luskin

SEE EVENT DETAILS
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Fred Luskin back for another talk at the Yoga Center.

You have the capacity to make peace with the past. You can regain your ability to trust and love and stop blaming other people for your emotional distress. Take time to count your blessings. Focus on who you are becoming. Wake up with a fresh start, no matter what happened yesterday. By learning to forgive, you heal in both body and mind.

The Greater Good Science Center studies the psychology, sociology, and neuroscience of wellbeing and teaches skills that foster a thriving, resilient and compassionate community.

The evening begins with 30 minutes of silent meditation, followed by 15 minutes of chanting. Stay after for a hearty vegetarian soup after the program.

Fred Luskin
Dr. Luskin holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Health Psychology from Stanford University. He is the Co-Director of the Stanford-Northern Ireland HOPE Project, an ongoing series of workshops and research projects that investigate the effectiveness of his forgiveness methods on the victims of political violence. He served as the Director of the Stanford Forgiveness Project, the largest research project to date on the training and measurement of a forgiveness intervention. He currently works as a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation.
