We’re thrilled to introduce our February/March Artist in residence Sans Michel with the show “Acts of Color”. At the Hippodrome Window Gallery opening reception, Sans Michel will be joined by principal collaborators Tailor Made Goods and Alex Stix-Brunell presenting several immersive experiences including paintings, music, and clothing that are representative of their artistic canon. Sans Michel will premier 3 works during “Acts of Color”, two harmonization paintings, “944” and “128”, and one “Untitled”. “944” will be viewed in a sound chamber designed by Alex Stix-Brunell and Sans Michel. Smøk aprons, designed to cultivate the creative self, will be presented by Tailor Made Goods and Sans Michel. The third piece “Untitled” is an immersive engagement where gallery visitors will alter a canvas, removing barriers between art and viewer and acknowledging the ultimate ephemeral nature of artistic works."The Sans Michel Harmonizations don't call out for attention. The don't need to. The canvasses are self-contained worlds where tensions arise and resolve, and where blocks of color--richer and deeper than they look at first glance--can feel nostalgic and even narcotic." - Stan Parish, Editor-in-Chief of THE FUTURE OF EVERYTHING.
