RUN FOR THE HILLS! KILLER HILLBILLY ROBOTS ARE COMING!
Join us for the 6th annual HiLLBiLLY ROBOT: an Urban Americana Music Event "Country/Honky-Tonk Weekend" presented by Shelby Ash Presents.
Saturday, Feb 22 at the Milk Bar will feature 3 of the Bay's most eclectic country bands; The Bitter Diamonds (70s country), The Famous (country punk), and Mike Saliani (Americana country).
Friday, Feb 21 at The Plough & Stars will feature two amazing female-lead country bands, The Muddy Roses (SF) and Ashleigh Flynn & the Riveters (Portland) and JUST ADDED Mike Hellman.
THE BITTER DIAMONDS (SF)
Real, honest country music made on the mean streets of San Francisco. It's Waylon/Willie/Johnny/George/Merle all rolled into one. It's like the 70s never died. This ain't no Nashville bullshit country.

THE FAMOUS (Bay Area)
The Famous forge a sound that combines the transcendent roar of punk with the brutal honesty and black wit of traditional country. To put it another way: take the '50s-era country of Hank Williams, Sr. and filter it through '70s punk rock, '80s psychobilly, and '90s post-punk. You'll find yourself staring eye-to-eye with the Bay's own 'Pixies in a cowboy hat.' Vic and Laurence are solidly backed by longtime collaborator Chris Fruhauf on drums and G.D. Hensley (...who some may know as the bass player for the Fat Wreck Chords / Honest Don's punk rock band, Diesel Boy...) on the bass.

MIKE SALIANI (Petaluma)
The band plays original country, folk, blues, Americana with a West Coast rock-n-roll edge. The music is mostly high-energy and danceable,...influenced by greats like The Allman Brothers, Merle Haggard, BB King, James Brown, and The Beatles.
