This SF Symphony co-commission invokes the words of historical figures to pay tribute to the centuries of ongoing struggle for equal rights, representation, and access to democracy for women in America. The program begins with Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, a timeless story about a resilient queen who saves her own life with the gift of storytelling.
