Pacific Repertory Theatre, the regions only year-round professional theatre, is pleased to announce the continuation of its 2014 repertory theatre season, with an original tribute concert, Hello, Broadway! highlighting Broadway’s top composers and their music, performed July 3 – 27 at the Golden Bough Theatre in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Directed by local legend Walt deFaria, with Music Direction by Stephen Tosh, Hello, Broadway! Tribute Concert, features four of the peninsula’s favorite musical theatre performers — Reg Huston (Fiddler on the Roof, Forbidden Broadway), Gracie Poletti (Legally Blonde, the Musical, Forbidden Broadway), Scott McQuiston (Spamalot, Midsummer) and Lydia Lyons (Forbidden Broadway, Spelling Bee) with guest vocalist, Susanne Mentzer (Sweeney Todd, Welcome to the Catskills).
Hit songs from Broadway’s top composers including Stephen Sondheim, Rogers and Hammerstein, Betty Comdon, Adolph Greene, Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Meredith Wilson and even Mel Brooks will be performed, featuring “Wicked”, “Camelot”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Les Mis”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Book of Mormon”, “Fiddler on the Roof”. In all, the evening will be filled with beloved tunes from 29 of Broadway’s best and more!
