at Plough & Stars (see times)
THE OFFICIAL UNOFFICIAL HARDLY STRICTLY BLUEGRASS AFTER PARTY!

Join us Friday, Oct 4 after Hardly Strictly for the first night of a 3-day After Party Event. The first night's shindig features two of the freshest string bands on the Bay Area circuit; Cool Pistol String Band and Tarantula and the Jespersons.

COOL PISTOL
Rooted in bluegrass, a heavy dose of the Grateful Dead, funk, junk, and anything else we feel like playing. From the mean streets of San Francisco.
Christian Poppelreiter -mandolin/vocals
Kevin Hogan - guitar/vocals
Dave Pascoe - fiddle/vocals
Jasper Djembe - upright bass/vocals

TARANTULA & THE JESPERSONS
Newly formed in the spring of 2016 and hailing from California's western Sierra, Tarantula and the Jespersons are a unique string ensemble trio featuring Andy 'Tarantula' Roberts on clawhammer banjo and vocals, Jared 'Hippie Mystic' Jesperson on mandolin and vocals, and Kaye 'Joplinson' Jesperson on cello and vocals.

Andy, a California native, has been performing his original style of California mountain music extensively for the past 15 years with several bands including The Trespassers, String Slingers, The Mountain Men Collective, and as a solo act. Andy has played EVERY HSBG Festival After Party since its conception...whenever that was. ;)

Jared, originally from Southern California, is a multi instrumentalist with a 15 year history in the jam band scene. After picking up a mandolin 12 years ago, he hasn't put it down. Together with his wife Kaye, they have been touring and recording as an indie folk duo 'The Jespersons' for the last 5 years.

From Australia, Kaye has been writing songs and performing her style of Indie Folk for 10 years in Australia and the last 5 years in California. Kaye comes from a folk, country and gospel background and as well as touring with 'The Jespersons' she is a part of the original folk duo 'Cello Shack' and the old time string band 'Mountain Men Collective'.
