Inspired by his new book The Pacific Circuit, Madrigal offers a guide to the human effects of technology and globalization at the Port of Oakland. Explore the city's changing landscape and its untold stories through conversations with longshoremen, artists, and longtime activists, as well as a sound and art installation capturing the forces shaping the port and city today. Then celebrate the city's soul with drinks and a dance party featuring DJ sets from Merrill Garbus (Tune-Yards) and Thao Nguyen (Thao and the Get Down Stay Down).
