Glass Spells

electronic post-punk synth pop

Emerging from San Diego, California, the synth-pop electronic band Glass Spells blends futuristic synth melodies and energetic beats with enchantingly bright female vocals. Originally formed in Calexico and now in San Diego, by songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Anthony Ramirez in 2014. After writing a few songs on a Juno-60 and bass guitar, Anthony invited friends to form the live band. In 2019 Tania Costello joined as lead singer and Glass Spells released their EP "Mirrors" in 2020. They were signed to the label Negative Gain Productions shortly after. Inspired by nostalgic synth-driven classics, Glass Spells' latest full-length album "Shattered" (2021) is already shimmering with nostalgia. Inspired by the insanity of dreams and love gone sour, the vocals take flight on a tale of longing. Paired with haunting synth melodies and palpitating beats. Glass Spells' song, Psychic Lovers was added to the official Spotify editorial playlist, "Fresh Finds" and "Fresh Finds: Pop" and they were also selected as San Diego's - 91X radio Local Break, gaining critical acclaim from various publications along the way. The duo is currently accompanied by drummer Michael Buehl during live shows. Glass Spells have won the attention of many by its characteristic sound, which incorporates several elements from Indie, post punk, and modern electronic to create rhythms that will not get out of your head. SXSW '22 official artist.

Post-Punk alternative dream pop

Formed by Gray Tolhurst, Jeremie Ruest, and Justin Oronos in 2018, the band meshes 90's shoegaze with the urgency and mechanical rhythms of post-punk. Their debut 7" was produced at New, Improved Recording in Oakland, California by Alexis Berthelot (Gojira, Wolfgang Tillmans, Enablers) and contains nods to shoegaze luminaries Slowdive and Chapterhouse as well as post-punk legend The Chameleons, and more contemporary acts like Nothing,Soft Kill, DIIV.

Following a couple of west coast tours and a SXSW debut in 2019 at the Part Time Punks showcase, topographies released their first EP with DREAM, a single with Sonic Cathedral, and are set to release their first LP on Funeral Party.

Rose Haze

psychedelic rock indie dream pop

Leader and singer-songwriter Kate was once a rolling stone sharing music across the Midwest, New Orleans, Europe, & Kauai. Now based in Oakland, she embodies the persona of "Rose" and is supported by a high-energy band comprised of guitar, bass, drums, and occasionally electric violin, harp, or horns. Together they create musical layers difficult to peg into any one specific genre.

Throughout her vast discography she tells stories of the lone female traveler experiencing blissful highs and devastating lows while running around from place to place. She paints unique arrangements of spacey vocals alongside harp, 70s electric pianos, arpeggiators, synths, vintage guitars, and effects pedals onto mood-oriented sonic canvases.

Idiosyncratic, honest, and direct, her presence both online and on stage is hers and hers alone. Two records will be announced for release soon, one aligns sonically with her current "psychedelic dreampop" live sound, and the other is an analog ambient concept album recorded in two days in the desert during quarantine.
