Gina began her career at age 15 singing backup for Phyllis Hyman, toured as a featured vocalist with Harry Belafonte, and has since worked with such artists as Omar, Ani DiFranco, Sekou Sundiata, Craig Harris, Toshi Reagon, and Lizz Wright. She also originated the role of Sarabi in The Lion King on Broadway. Oakland’s Julie Wolf is a composer, teacher, and master of the accordion who has worked with Maceo Parker, Ani DiFranco, the Indigo Girls, Bruce Cockburn, Cris Williamson, and Barbara Higbie, as well as composing music for films and serving as music director for the Berkeley Rep’s 2010 world premiere of Girlfriend.
Berkeley’s Shelley Doty is a talented singer and a powerhouse on electric and acoustic guitar. Guitar Player Magazine has praised the “energy, funk, and surprise” of her guitar playing as well as her “smoky, soulful voice.”
