Gillian Grogan

Gillian Grogan is an independent folk singer and songwriter. The formerly New England based artist now tours the country year-round, sprinkling stories throughout her thoughtful, driven melodies. Gillian's unique blend of Americana, soul, folk, and old time balladry is influenced by a wide and honest spectrum of her experience as a 90’s-female-power-pop fangirl turned banjo-hugging, bluegrass-loving researcher of many a Child ballad.
Gillian sings stories where Americana meets folk and steeps into soul, where finger picking builds and gets slapped back to silence. The Woven Collective calls it "an unforgiving tuggin' at your roots, no matter where you come from, her lyrics wash over you like gentle reminders of another life you haven't had yet." She calls it Full-bodied Folk.
Gillian is releasing her first solo EP Winter Ballads independently this February. She has also finished recording for her first full length album, to be released in late 2019. She has two previous EPs: "Redbird" (with her old Boston-based band HoneyFoot, 2017) and “Slow Drip” (Demo, 2016), which may be found and heard via her website.
