GETTING PLAYED -- 4th Annual Symposium on Equity in the Entertainment Industry and Awards

Join us for the 4th annual Getting Played Symposium with keynote by Patricia Velásquez, best known for her role as Anck Su Namun in "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns" but also an author (Straight Walk: A Supermodel's Journey to Finding Her Truth) and award-winning activist who founded Wayúu Taya Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public and funding ways to improve conditions of Latin American indigenous groups. Panelists will also include: Caroline Heldman, Associate Professor of Politics at Occidental College, research director for the Geena Davis Institute for Gender in Media, and commentator for CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, and CNBC; Tracy Camp, actor, activist, and mathematics instructor at Laney College; Michael Gene Sullivan, activist and Resident Playwright of the OBIE and Tony award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe; Christine Kunewa Walker, CEO of the Provincetown Film Society and co-creator of the Women's Media Summit and Women's Media Action Coalition; and Berkeley Law graduate and actor Austin Ku.
