The university known for its academic achievement, is simply called "The Farm" by locals. It's a great visit for prospective students or the general public. Basically it's the Harvard of the west, except it still has a great athletic program. With world-class facilities, sprawling foothills, and distinct sandstone and tile architecture Stanford is a Bay Area gem.
