The Un-Scripted Theater Company is holding General Auditions for the rest of its 2017 season. All directors will be present and will be looking for guests to bring on for Un-Scripted’s run of completely improvised shows.
When: Wednesday August 9, 7- 10.
Where: Un-Scripted Theater Company, 533 Sutter Street 2nd floor, San Francisco
What to expect: We understand auditions are stressful but we strive to run our auditions more like workouts. We will warm up together and you will get multiple opportunities to get up and show us your best. Please be prepared to stay the entire time and get there a few minutes early so we can start on time
What to wear/bring: Dress comfortably in clothes you can move in. Feel free to bring a water bottle so that you stay hydrated.
The shows we are looking to bring guests on for are:
DASH (Saturday nights at 10 pm): Fast, freeform show that intermixes scenes, games and songs
8 pm shows (primarily long form):
Monologues (9/8, 9/9, 9/15, 9/16): Using a monologist to inspire improvised stories
The Short and The Long of It (9/29, 9/30, 10/6,10/7): A series of scenes and the audience decides which story they want to see in the 2nd half
Murder Most Un-Scripted (10/27, 10/28, 11/3, 11/4, 11/10, 11/11): An improvised murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie
Holiday Musical (11/24, 11/25, 12/1, 12/2, 12/8, 12/9, 12/15, 12/16): Improvised Musical
Each show runs for 2-3 weekends, normally with 3 weekly rehearsals prior to the show and weekly rehearsals during the show run.
We are looking for experienced improvisors. You should sign up if the following applies:
Have at least 2 years of improv training and have performance experience
With the exception of DASH-only interest, familiar with improvised long form narrative and looking to get better at it
Looking to work with a tight knit ensemble
Bonus points if you have familiarity with improvised singing
