Gabi Hartmann, a Parisian artist born in 1991, has made her mark with a style that blends pop, folk, jazz, soul and world music. As a multilingual singer, she blurs musical boundaries and conveys her emotions through a soft, melancholic voice. After a critically acclaimed debut self-titled album in 2023, with over 20 million listens and 15,000 physical sales, she has performed at prestigious festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne and Les Francofolies. With this album she won the Golden Disk Award for New International Artist in Japan, and collaborated with artists such as Jesse Harris, Julian Lage and Oan Kim... With La femme aux yeux de sel, her second album, Gabi tells the musical story of Salinda, a woman from an imaginary island whose salt tears drive her to travel to understand her origins. This initiatory tale, structured in three chapters, explores universal themes: innocence, disillusionment and the quest for serenity. Through song, Gabi shares her reflections on nature, human relationships, suffering and wonder. Inspired by artists such as Miriam Makeba and Mercedes Sosa, she pays homage to Latin America and to influential female voices. The album also features a number of strong collaborations: Naïssam Jalal on Le lever de soleil, Laurent Bardainne for Ton monde secret and Julia Johansen on Drink The Ocean. The strings of Brazilian composer Maycon Ananias magnify tracks like Mélancolie. With her melancholy poetry and multiple influences, Gabi creates a dreamlike universe where styles and eras merge to offer a rich, personal and universal work.
