Full Spectrum Communication
There is more to good communication than using the right words and avoiding the wrong ones. The verbal dimension is often the last car in the communication train that begins with your sense of being, your identity, your frame of mind, your perception, your physiology, your energy body, and the calmness or inflammation of your ego. This class seeks to build skills in those more generative layers of communication that precede words, so that you will naturally and intuitively find better language, or even get the result you desire without having to speak at all.
This class will include group discussion, Socratic questioning, somatic skill building, group exercises, brain-twisters, red pills and copious amounts of humor. Students are free to audio record the workshop. Bringing your curiosity, a water container, a journal and comfortable clothing is greatly encouraged. This class is a great addition to anyone who has been studying NVC or Compassionate Communication.
We will be covering:
The somatic layer of communication, working with the inner animal.
Soothing and calming the ego
Staying empathic without feeling overwhelmed or falling into another person’s interpretation of reality
Engaging the imagination and setting intention with communication while staying vulnerable and authentic.
Grounding and energetically tuning a shared reality space.
Energy Saving rules of thumb
Energetic postures that allow you both the most grace and leverage towards your desired outcome.
Telling the truth when the truth feels like a moving target.
BIO
Eric Nielson is a Spiritual Guide, Couples Counselor, Herbalist and Love Activist. His classes facilitate people to hear their inner truth, and to make space in their personality and worldview to express it. He is trained in CBT, NVC, EFT, NLP, Hypnosis, Co-Counseling and is a trained empath. He has a private couples counseling practice in Portland, Oregon, and in Kona, Hawaii, and can be frequently found mushroom hunting and herb gathering under moonlight in the most magical, mossy forests. He is available for private sessions in SF until January 10th and can be booked at www.ericnielson.us.
